Fama conducts a comprehensive news and web search for each person. This may include blog posts, professional reviews, news articles, comment boards, etc. Any article that is confirmed to be relevant to the individual will be shown on the report. Any article that matches the Behavior Flag criteria will also be marked as such.
How the technology works
Fama’s algorithm programmatically searches through every combination of identity information provided for an individual. For example, name + location, name + location + employer, name + employer are some searches that would be run depending on the data provided.
Fama has developed a machine learning model to determine whether a web item is relevant to the person in question. The model itself is proprietary but generally speaking it is analyzing how much information in the article matches the information provided about the person. If the article passes a certain confidence threshold, the article is placed on the report.
The Fama Behavior Flags and Keyword Flags that the administrator sets up in the account also apply to articles. This means that, for example, a publicly available arrest record would be flagged as Crime on the report.
