Keyword Groups
In many instances, the Fama Behaviors cover every relevant behavior for making a hiring decision. But with some positions or projects, you may need to screen for additional topics that fall outside the Fama Behaviors. Keywords will help you screen for these additional topics by identifying these terms or phrases in a person’s publicly available online presence. Keywords let you screen for various topics ranging from technical skills to industry-specific threats to indicators of financial irresponsibility.
If you’re going to be including Keywords for a variety of topics in your Behavior Kit, it may make sense to divide those Keywords into sub-categories using our Keyword Groups feature. You can read about setting up Keyword Groups below.
Creating Keyword Groups
To create Keyword Groups, go to your account's Behavior Kits section. An Account Admin can locate this by clicking into 'Companies' on the left sidebar. You can add Keyword Groups to an existing Behavior Kit by editing it or add Keywords Groups to a new Behavior Kit by clicking on the ‘Add Behavior Kit’ button. Your options for Keyword Groups are Included Keywords and Excluded Keywords. You can read more about Excluded Keywords here.
Underneath the Behavior Flags section, you will see the Keyword Groups.
Click the ‘Add New Keyword Group’ button to create the group. In the new window, you can name your Keyword Group and add Keywords to your group.
You will have the option of creating both Exact and Fuzzy Keywords. When searching for an Exact Keyword, Fama will identify any instance of that specific word/phrase being used. With a Fuzzy Keyword, Fama will determine the root of the word entered and search for any word that contains that root.
Let’s say you’re a hospital hiring nurses and want to see if individuals have ever mentioned sensitive patient information online. In this case, you would create a Keyword Group called ‘Patient Care’ and include patient-related Keywords.
Make sure to click ‘Save’ once you’re finished entering all the relevant keywords.
Afterward, you can add other Keywords Groups to this Behavior Kit by clicking the ‘Add New Keyword Group’ button again.
- Capitalization doesn't affect the inclusion of keywords as our system will encompass them all
- Keywords set as Exact cannot contain any symbols
- Keywords set as Fuzzy can contain symbols (e.g. @thestallion, #optimus_prime, cc:@mamamia-123)
- The apostrophe ' is a reserved character so any keywords containing that symbol will be ignored whether in Fuzzy or Exact
- Accents are accepted in both Exact and Fuzzy
- If the keywords are non-English, and the language doesn't use spaces between words in some instances (e.g. Japanese), the keywords must be added as Fuzzy
