When you want to run a Fama report for a new individual, you must provide Fama with some basic information about that person.
Person information
To add a new individual to be screened, click the green 'Add New Report’ button at the top of the page. This will pop open a window where you can see the types of information that we ask for about an individual.
If you order multiple check types, you will be asked to select a Check Type. If you only order one check type (e.g. the Plus report), it will be selected by default.
You will also be asked to select a Behavior Kit to be used on the report. If you do not have a custom behavior kit created, the "General" Behavior Kit is selected by default. The General behavior kit includes all Fama flags. If you do have a custom behavior kit, and you would like for it to be selected by default, you may do so in Company Settings > Behavior Kits > select the name of the behavior kit from the dropdown, and Save Changes.
Resume Parser
If you have the individual's resume, you can select the 'Parse Resume' button at the top of the Person Information section. It will prompt you to select a file from your computer to upload. While it is loading, the green button will say "Parsing." When the process is complete, you will see the individual's information has been populated into the fields for you. We recommend reviewing each of the fields to ensure that the information is in the correct place.
Bulk Upload
If you have a large number of individuals to run reports on at once, you can use the 'Bulk Upload Reports' button in the upper right hand corner of the screen. This will open up a new page where you enter the information above. Click the green 'Download Template' button, then follow the provided instructions to enter the information that you have for each individual. Please make sure that you pay particular attention to the proper formatting (helpful tips can be located if you click 'this document' in blue pictured below.
The file most be saved as a CSV. When ready to submit, drag and drop to the upload section in the gray box, or click the box to search for the file. Press the 'Upload' button to submit. If there are any errors with the formatting, red error messages will pop up on the page.
Person information fields
To submit the person, you must provide the individual’s first name, last name, and e-mail address. Although you may enter an individual with these minimum requirements, we strongly recommend providing as much information as possible. The more information you provide, the more likely we can confirm a particular profile or article. The algorithm uses these data points to search for and confirm relevant web content.
Aliases - Add any names that the individual might also go by. For example, if Joe Doe also goes by "Joseph" or "Joey", you may enter this information which will be used to locate and confirm profiles.
Phone - You can include any phone numbers directly connected to the individual. This may include home, work, and cell phone numbers.
Location - Fill in any location information relevant to the individual. Any current or past residence addresses or previous work locations can be helpful when conducting a screen. For example, if you know that Joe Doe grew up in Los Angeles, California, United States, but now lives in Boston, Massachusetts, United States, both pieces of information should be provided.
Employment - Enter any employment information and history you have for an individual. This information can help assure that a social media profile belongs to an individual and can often be a deciding factor if a person has a common name and numerous profiles could possibly belong to them.
Education - This is a great way to add information about an individual’s past or current education. It can be especially helpful for individuals that are students, as their educational institution's location may vary from their residential location.
Social Networks - This portion of the ordering process allows you to enter any social media profiles that you might already have for the individual. Please note that they must be provided as a valid URL (e.g. https://www.instagram.com/username). In many cases, you may not have any social profiles to add and can proceed to submitting the person. No matter what, Fama will conduct a search for profiles.
Client Report ID - This field will not be used as part of the search. This is a place to add any notes or information you'd like to include about the person. The text entered here will display under the person’s name on the dashboard. Clients may enter the individual’s role, a unique applicant number, or a department into this field.
Submitting the Person
Once you have entered all of the information for the individual and reviewed the summary page, click the orange 'Submit' button on the bottom of the form. The person’s name will appear in the 'In Progress' section of your Fama dashboard. At this point, the individual has been added to our system, and the screening process will begin.
